The emergence of Wiliot’s ambient IoT technology, leveraging Bluetooth standards and battery-free tags,
is driving a rapid scale-up of Bluetooth-based ambient IoT—from hundreds of millions to billions of connected devices.
This advancement is enabled by ultra-low-cost tags produced using reel-to-reel (R2R) inlay manufacturing, assembly,
and conversion processes similar to those used in RFID. By integrating sensing capabilities such as temperature, light,
humidity, and proximity—enabled through printed, electronic materials—Wiliot’s solution offers a new approach to scalable, sustainable IoT.
In this presentation, we will explore Wiliot’s novel communication method, highlight the advantages of this breakthrough technology over existing solutions,
and demonstrate how printed electronics are used to seamlessly integrate sensing functionalities into battery-free tags.
