ePaper is expanding beyond black and white into color changing surfaces for numerous applications. Our partners and customers use these to create revolutionary new products that are low power, and help them to meet their sustainability efforts. Most recently, we have developed a full-color ePaper display platform with excellent color and contrast ratio performance targeting outdoor signage applications. Full color displays utilizing colored particles, no color filter array, and a single TFT array backplane have previously been demonstrated using E Ink’s ACeP TM technology for CE application. The new E Ink platform combines the ACeP TM pigment color making mechanisms with the microcapsule structure to enable large area displays (up to 75”) and wide operating range (-20oC to 65oC) for DOOH application. Other examples of color changing surfaces application and positive impact on sustainability will also be highlighted in this talk.
