This deep and engaging expert discussion is part of the TechBlick Health Tech Series and is curated by Mr. Afred Poor.

Many people just accept that hearing deteriorates as we age. But hearing loss is associated with significant mental health conditions, such as loneliness, social isolation, and depression. And these are recognized as precursors for serious physical health problems. Technology to support patients with hearing loss has progressed by leaps and bounds in recent years, improving performance and lowering costs. This session will delve into how the adaptive hearing technology industry is changing, including the role that artificial intelligence (AI) plays in making these devices less expensive and more effective.

Panel 1: What technological advances, including AI, have had major impact on recent advances in helping patients with impaired hearing?

Panel 2: The advent of more affordable, over-the-counter hearing solutions has the potential to provide support for a larger range of patients. What are the potential gains and pitfalls, and can we deliver on the potential improvements?
