Salima Alem is a senior research officer at the National Research Council of Canada (NRC). She received her Ph.D. degree in applied physics from the University of Angers (France). She joined the Organic Materials and Devices team at NRC in 2008 after a two-year postdoctoral position at Queen’s University. Her research is in the area of organic and printed electronics, with an emphasis on organic photovoltaics, where she has been active for nearly two decades. She is currently leading a project for the development of flexible multiple-mechanism energy harvesting systems for remote health condition monitoring and smart homes, as part of the Age-in-Place NRC’s challenge program.
