Mariia Zhuldybina

Co-Founder

Mariia is a scientist and innovator with a background in photonics and electrical engineering who is fuelled by creativity, curiosity, exploring new applications, and building solutions towards a livable future. She completed her Bachelor and Master degree in Applied Physics and Mathematics in Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology. After, she arrived to Canada and received her PhD in electrical engineering from ÉTS in 2021 under the supervision of the professor François Blanchard and co-supervision of the professor Ricardo Zednik. After, she has worked at Institute for Graphic Communications and Printability as a research assistant and she had co-founded a start-up company TRAQC. TRAQC leverages terahertz science and technology to achieve AI-driven, in-line quality control of electronics printing without interruption. With TRAQC’s technology, printed electronics manufactures can make their work more efficient and lower costs while allowing for greater output volumes with higher quality. This solution was developed during her PhD at ÉTS. Her research focused on the design of resonant photonics structures, called metamaterials, and their application to the quality control of printed electronics using terahertz (THz) radiation. These results have led to two patents by Mariia and her thesis supervisor François Blanchard. Today, she is the institutional researcher at École de Technologie Supérieure and a co-founder & CEO of TRAQC.
