Speaker: Glenn Alers | Company: Soliculture | Date: 12 May 2021 | Full Presentation Luminescent solar collectors (LSC) were first proposed in 1976 as a “Luminescent Greenhouse Collector”. However, large scale commercial implementation of LSCs did not materialized until recently. Soliculture introduced the first commercial scale LSC in 2015 designed specifically for greenhouse crop production. Over 50,000 sq.ft. of LSC greenhouses have been installed in the US and Canada and are producing crops commercially. The LSC design uses an organic luminescent material that matches photosynthesis efficiency to improve plant growth. This talk will review the design and manufacturing challenges associated with bringing an LSC to large scale commercial production. Here you will be matched at random with other participants. You will have 4 minutes of video conversation to introduce yourselves. If the conversation is going well, you can twice extend this period by two additional minutes.

Speaker: Kris Erickson | Company: Hewlett Packard| Date: 11-12 May 2021 | Full Presentation Bio Kris Erickson is a Research Manager and Senior Research Scientist in the 3D Lab at HP Labs, leading R&D projects in multiple topical areas of 3D printing. He obtained Bachelor degrees in Chemistry and Chemical Engineering from the University of Minnesota – Twin Cities, then his PhD in Chemistry at the University of California – Berkeley researching nanomaterials and was a post-doctoral appointee at Sandia National Labs prior to joining HP. At HP, his research has spanned from 3D polymer printing to 3D metal printing and 3D printed electronics, with an emphasis on materials and applications development.
